My name is Abhinav Gupta and I am a Grad student at the School of Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh.

I enjoy learning about the fascinating power of machine learning and its potential applications.

I am very passionate about my work and I am always eager to learn new theories, programming languages, and technologies to broaden my skill set.

I’m looking for a full-time role starting from February 2021, in teams/ projects related to machine learning, natural language processing, or computer science.

I’m a master’s student in the Computational Data Science program at the Language Technologies Institute (a part of the School of Computer Science) at CMU.

This summer, I interned at Apple as a Data and Machine Learning Research Intern. I was a part of the Test Strategy team, and my work involved automating tests and prioritizing tests.

In a previous life…

Before joining Carnegie Mellon University, I was working as a Senior Software Developer Engineer at Skellam.ai. In an early stage, a budding startup, I took the ownership and developed an NLQ (Natural Language Querying) module which could convert sentences into SQL queries.

Till 2018, I was an R&D engineer at IPsoft where I worked on the chit-chat module of Amelia. Making a chatbot engage in small talk, sounds fun? Ask me about the stories of the hilarious generative responses that Amelia in development gave. Or those endless nights working on V3 of Amelia.

My career in machine learning and natural language processing started back at IBM Research Labs, where I was a Research Intern for a semester (6 months).

Life outside work.
